IBI Cáirde is the past student association of IBI, which was launched in 2004. Our vision is to be an effective network of past students, actively involved with IBI, building life-long relationships. Membership has grown steadily over the past number of years and a lot has been achieved already by Cáirde.

Who is it for? Any student who has completed a course, from a module up to degree level, can join Cáirde once they leave IBI.

Why would I join? To maintain contact with fellow students and with IBI, to give something back to IBI and to support current students.

How much will it cost?  EUR20 per annum per member, or EUR30 per couple.

Are there any perks? Yes - lots! As well as being part of such an illustrious group of people (!!) you will receive free membership of the IBI library, which is a fantastic resource, as well as a 10% discount on any IBI Conferences or short courses (such as the Summer Institute). You will also have the opportunity for further teaching/training through our Cáirde conferences, and be able to use the Cáirde section of the IBI web-site, and the Cáirde Facebook page, to keep in touch with other members. Scripture Union also kindly give a 10% discount to Cáirde members.

Where does my money go?  One of Cáirde's aims is to support IBI, and the current students enrolled. To date Cáirde has:

Given cash grants to students to help with their fees
Invested in the library by buying books
Sponsored an annual award for the student who has contributed the most to the community life of IBI - i.e. the 'Heart' award
Given a gift of an IBI Conference folder to students graduating from the Certificate and Diploma courses.
Run three conferences for members, giving teaching input and workshops.

Cáirde members have also taken responsibility for the catering at IBI's graduation for many years, which has been a real blessing to IBI.
