Why study at IBI?

We encourage our students to ask questions all the time

How will what I am learning make a difference in how I try to follow Jesus?

What are some implications of this insight for Christians in contemporary Ireland?

The Holy Spirit indwells the believer. How does this challenge you in personal ethics?

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever. So what?

God is sovereign. How can you apply this truth in talking with someone who is terminally ill?

Such questions move us from the theoretical to a point of contact with real life. This is why all our courses are in Applied Theology.

But these sort of questions also need to be asked of IBI. Why IBI?

IBI exists to contribute to making a practical difference in the everyday life of the church in Ireland. Our aim is that each student will make a difference both in their local Christian community and the wider Irish church. IBI strives to equip men and women who:

have a deepened passion for God and a compassion for people

not only know, but are willing to wrestle with how best to apply and communicate God’s Word in Ireland today

have a Christ-like desire to serve others sacrificially

God works through people. We pray that our students will play a positive role in Irish Churches as IBI plays a positive role in their lives. It is through such people that the church in Ireland will be strengthened and God glorified. This is the ‘so what’ factor.

So, if you want to be part of a community that is making a difference in the church in Ireland today, then IBI is for you.
